The Nebo Manifesto

Artificial intelligence will not replace what it means to be human.

It will change what it means to be capable.

What follows are the seven principles that shape every decision we make about Nebo. We update them in public when they change.

01

AI is for everyone, not just the technically inclined.

For three years, the most powerful AI tools have required a developer to set up. We don't accept that as the natural order. Every person who could benefit from AI should be able to benefit from AI.

02

Your data belongs to you.

On your computer or in your cloud Nebo, your conversations, your memory, and your files are yours alone. When Nebo needs to think, only that request routes through Janus, our AI gateway, and the answer comes right back. Your ideas are never training data — ours or anyone's.

03

Open beats locked-in.

Skills, AI employees, plugins, connectors: they're all defined by open manifests in plain Markdown. Publish on Nebo, publish elsewhere, publish on your own server. We earn your trust each release, not by trapping you.

04

Composition is the unit.

A single AI that does everything is a toy. A workshop full of small, specific tools your AI can hire is a force multiplier. We build for the workshop.

05

Show your work.

Every action is auditable. Every step is pausable. If an AI employee buys something, runs a script, or sends an email, you see it, before or after. No black boxes.

06

Pay creators fairly.

Builders ship 75% of every install to themselves. We keep 25% for hosting, payouts, and review. The numbers tilt toward the people doing the work.

07

Capability, not replacement.

Nebo is not here to do your job. Nebo is here to make you capable of doing more, faster, and on your terms.
