Normally, if software needs a phone number, messages coming in, or access from somewhere else, it has to be somebody else's software running in somebody else's cloud. Nebo doesn't. A Nebo makes one secure connection to the Nebo switchboard from wherever it runs: your computer, the machine in the back room, or a machine we keep awake for you. The employee stays yours; the switchboard gives it the permanent part: a phone line people can call, texts that can come in, a QR code someone can scan at the counter or on the lot, a way for you to reach the Nebo from your phone, and a place for messages to wait when the computer isn't there to receive them yet. Nebo Cloud isn't somebody else's cloud. It's a computer we keep awake for you, running your own Nebo, same employees, same switchboard.

What it puts through

• Give an employee a phone line. A real number people can call. The switchboard holds the line; the employee whose job it is claims it. Concurrent calls, voicemail in your business's name, outbound calls when you've given consent.
• Let customers text the same line. Two-way texting is built into the employee's phone line. The employee answers from the same number. Carrier registration is handled for you.
• Put a QR where the work happens. Someone scans it and starts a new conversation with the employee you chose. Every scan gets its own separate conversation.
• Reach your Nebo from your phone. Sign in from your phone and the switchboard puts you through to that Nebo's own interface. A local Nebo just needs to be on and online.
• Let messages wait for the employee. A laptop can go offline. Its address doesn't have to. Messages that arrive while the Nebo is offline go through in order when it comes back.
• Let the work finish anyway. A job already running doesn't have to die with the connection. It finishes, and the app catches up.

Keep the computer off the public internet.

Your Nebo makes the secure connection to the switchboard. You don't open a port on your machine for the world to reach it. When you reach a Nebo remotely, the switchboard checks that you own it or were given access before a single byte moves. Sign in with Google, Apple or GitHub; add a passkey for a second factor.

What it costs

Your first local computer joins the switchboard free, with no AI plan required. Each additional local computer is $7 a month. A Nebo we keep awake in Nebo Cloud is $25 a month, its connection included. A phone line is $7 a month, 4 cents a minute, 2 cents a text. Prepaid, published rates, a receipt for every job. Nebo is open source, Apache 2.0, and runs with no account at all.
