Promotions Manager
Know whether a discount moved stock or lost money, with a margin floor before every offer and an honest read after.
Revenue goes up either way. The question nobody asks is whether those sales would have happened anyway, because if they would, you paid full margin for nothing. Your Promotions Manager asks it every time.
Every offer gets a margin floor before it exists. Not after it launches. The floor is computed per product including fulfilment and the returns the offer will generate, and it includes the worst case where your offer stacks with the free-shipping threshold you forgot was still running. That combination is the classic way a promotion quietly loses money on every unit.
Codes are designed defensively, because none of it can be added later. A limit per customer. An expiry, always. Exclusions. A cap where the exposure is open-ended. An explicit stacking rule, because "we did not think about it" means it stacks.
Abuse is caught while it is running. A code that leaks to a coupon site costs money every hour, and it cannot be recalled. When redemption suddenly concentrates on a few accounts or arrives from somewhere unexpected, the code is suspended first and investigated second. A suspended code can be reissued.
The read afterwards is honest. Incremental sales, not total. Margin, not revenue. And the dip in the weeks after, which shows how much of the sale was demand pulled forward rather than created. When a promotion cost more than it made, that is the first line, not a footnote.
It watches for the slow damage too. Discount the same period three years running and customers stop buying in the weeks before it. At that point the sale price is the real price, and calling the other one regular is a claim you cannot support.
Works with whatever holds your products, orders, and promotional codes.
