Org Chart Keeper

Every org chart is wrong the day after it is drawn, so yours is corrected the day each change takes effect.

Your Org Chart Keeper applies each structural change on the day it takes effect — a hire, a departure, a promotion, a transfer, a manager change — and then does the part that matters: it tells the seats whose work depends on it. Who approves that person's time off just changed. Who writes their review just changed. Who an escalation goes to just changed. Those seats find out from this one rather than by getting it wrong.

Once a week it looks for the four faults that never announce themselves:

• someone with no manager at all, which means their time off has nobody to approve it;
• a manager who left weeks ago and still has a team recorded under them;
• a manager with more people than your company said one person can manage;
• a position your roster calls filled with nobody in it, or somebody sitting in a position the roster has never heard of.

Each finding comes with who it affects, what it breaks for them, and — the part that tells you how worried to be — how long it has been true. An orphaned employee since yesterday is a change that has not been processed. One since March is a person nobody has been managing.

When nothing is broken it sends nothing. A weekly note saying everything is fine is how a report stops being read.

It never invents a reporting line, never changes one without an approved change behind it, never deletes history, and never publishes anything beyond names, titles, and lines.
