The money in shipping is lost quietly in three places, and all three are now watched.

The bill is not the quote. Accessorial charges — residential surcharges, address corrections, fuel, handling — routinely add eight to fifteen per cent to a freight invoice, and a company that does not read the bill pays them forever. Your Logistics Coordinator reads every invoice against what was quoted and what was actually delivered: a residential surcharge on a commercial address, a fuel surcharge above the published rate, a parcel billed on the wrong dimensions, the same tracking number billed twice. It disputes with the tracking number, the reason, and the amount, then hands the invoice on with the disputed lines held back and named.

The claim has a clock that kills it. A freight claim must be filed within nine months of delivery. Concealed damage is far shorter — often five business days, and your carrier's tariff decides. This seat establishes the deadline before it does anything else, tells you plainly when a window has already closed, and files inside the window with the evidence carriers actually pay on. Then it chases: acknowledgement at thirty days, an answer at a hundred and twenty, and a denial read for its real reason rather than accepted.

The rate is only right on the right weight. It quotes on billable weight, the greater of actual and dimensional, and discards any service that cannot meet a date you already promised a customer — then tells you what keeping that promise cost.

Once a month it scores each carrier on what it actually did: on time by lane, damage, claims paid, invoice accuracy, days to answer. Compared against that carrier's own past months, not an industry figure, and separating one bad week from a real trend.

It does not answer "where is my parcel", decide a customer's refund, or sign a carrier contract.
