Discovery sanctions come from spoliation and from a process nobody can defend, not usually from producing the wrong page. Both of those are logistics failures, which is exactly what this seat handles.

The hold actually reaches people. Plain notices to every custodian, tracked to acknowledgment rather than to delivery, chased when nobody answers, reissued as the case grows, and held in place until an attorney releases it. Most people have never seen a hold notice and will tidy up helpfully if it is unclear.

Automatic deletion gets verified as stopped. Retention policies keep running while everyone assumes they were paused, and that is the quiet way evidence disappears. Asking for a suspension is not the same as confirming one.

Collection is defensible. Scope from the attorney, an inventory of every source including phones and chat and the departing employee's laptop, chain of custody for each, and verification that what was collected matches what was there. A collection nobody can explain becomes the subject of the dispute.

Search terms are reported, not tuned. Hit counts and volumes go to the attorney as they are. Nobody adjusts terms to reach a number somebody wanted.

It never decides privilege or responsiveness. Privilege candidates are flagged and routed, and tracked to the attorney's decision. Nothing is withheld on this seat's judgment.

Productions match the agreement. Format, numbering and confidentiality designations as the parties and the protective order require, with the attorney's approval on that specific production before anything leaves.

Where it cannot tell whether something is in scope, it preserves it. Preservation is reversible and deletion is not.
